OCCT-20-years

Celebrating 25 Years (01-01-2015) of Bringing the Magic of the Arts to our Youth

In Building the Future of O.C.C.T., We need your help!

Since we began in 1990 we have always had the dream of building a permanent facility to house offices, classrooms, and studios for our staff, students, and directors. The goad was to build the “Oregon Coast Children’s Center for the Artsin a permanent facility owned and operated by our organization and dedicated to keeping alive the arts for all youth in our state and region.

In 2004 we moved operations to Lincoln County, and have operated out of two separate facilities. In the fall of 2008 we had to close our Toledo Main Street Facility due to cut backs in funding. Our main priority has always been “Youth Outreach” as part of our “Arts In Education” programs which have toured all over the Western U.S.. In order to insure our continued program support we had to make cuts in spending and focus on educational outreach. Our plans to build OCCCA continue, but from a different direction....

Our current community outreach includes seeking out an individual donor, or patrons that can help us secure a full donation, or partial donation of a land site to create our home facility. Foundation support in Oregon & from National Patrons is much more likely to support “bricks and mortar”, than they are land acquisition. Many organizations we have known in our own region have received their start building a facility from the support of an “Angel”, a person who believes in the mission of the organization and wants to support their work and their future.

We want OCCCA to train students in the study of the fine and performing arts, theatre, film, music, media arts, design, circus, dance, writing, traditional and folk arts like puppetry all under one single roof.  OCCT currently operates out of storage facilities in both Lincoln & Tillamook County, and holds seasonal and summer programs out of the Toledo Public Library, and Toledo City Park Amphitheater.   We also use city, and regional facilities for special programs and continue to tour our arts and educational programs all over the Western United States.

If you can help, in any way, or have ideas for support please contact Theatre Directors at any time, or go too You can Help and Donate Now!

The Oregon Coast Children’s Theatre is a not-for-profit educational theatre, OCCT tours Fine Art & Performance Art Programs to schools, libraries, museums, & festivals throughout the Pacific Northwest & U.S.
